Anyone can create a Broker Connection account. However, your account must be appointed to gain full access to all of our products.

Appointed broker

Appointed brokers become Primary Agents on Broker Connection that can create accounts for others who work with them including:

• Other primary agents
• Administrators
• Subagents
• Sales agents
• Support staff

Each role has its own set of user permissions.

Non-appointed broker

If you’re not appointed with Blue Shield but work for a broker who is, ask that broker to create a Broker Connection account for you.

To get appointed with Blue Shield, complete and send the following forms:

• Signed and dated Producer Agreement (return pages 12 and 19)
• Your California Life-Only and Accident & Health agent licenses and Errors & Omissions Insurance Certificate
• A Direct Deposit Authorization Form, required because Blue Shield pays commissions through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
• A W-9 form
